September has two powerful Eclipses, the first the Lunar of the 7th in Pisces and the second of the 21st, a Solar Eclipse in Virgo. And whilst these can have a powerful impact on the month itself,
they will combine to provide a backdrop through the next six months. We also have to be mindful of the planetary influences that feed into these two Lunations not least the North Node and Jupiter with the Lunar Eclipse, and Saturn and Neptune with the Solar Eclipse.
But the month begins with Saturn inverting back into Pisces, through to mid-February, and it is going face-to-face with the Sun from the 18th to the 25th, urging us to balance our physical energies with our emotional and spiritual needs. And yet, honing in on details can prove especially helpful – particularly from the 10th to the 16th, peaking on the 13th with a razor-sharp Mercury Cazimi in Virgo.
The 22nd is also a key day, Mars returns home to Scorpio, but the move of the Sun to Libra also sees the Autumnal Equinox as Cardinal Quadrant Three begins. Yet it may be a turbulent end to the month as Mars clashes with Pluto, and power plays can intensify.

Aries 21 March – 20 April
It may feel like back to the future for some Rams. As much as grappling with everyday strands can see progress, at a more psychological level you may feel tender. Ask yourself, are old hurts or rejections still playing out in the here and now? And yet with your ruler Mars in assertive positions all month, if you do need to firm up your boundaries, you can. Details may also sometimes bore you, but precision will be your ally this month, and help you to unleash your talents all the more effectively. Yet as the month comes to a close, a mighty clash could unfold. It’s important to understand the power dynamics, by you or others.
Taurus 21 April – 21 May
An intriguing month is in store, Taurus. Your ruler Venus can see you redecorate or start a home-based business, and you can show lots of flair. But there may be some old friendships or alliances which start to lose a bit of sparkle, or one previous future hope could be less attractive. The planets and the Eclipses are urging you to get the right balance between what you want to showcase for you, and what others expect of you. At work, your stamina can be high, but you’ll also want to feel appreciated for your dedication. If you’re not, a determined part of your nature can surprise someone as you push back during the last week, but it could create a higher level of respect from them.
Gemini 22 May – 21 June
Work and life pressures can build up this month, but if you tune into your instincts, the Lunar Eclipse and its co-pilot the Point of Destiny, and their link to the planet of fortune, Jupiter, in your sector of everyday finances, you could still see a breakthrough. Yet with your guide planet busy at the base of your solar chart, home, family and domestic arrangements can also call out for your attention. Venus’s gorgeous link to Mars midmonth can however, bring a more playful, even flirter dimension to bear, one which will be more to the fore from the Autumnal Equinox. Yet resist the desire to be too forceful in the last week.
Cancer 22 June – 23 July
Conversations can take on a fated characteristic this month Cancer, but if you’re looking to negotiate, you may surprise yourself by how firm you can be. That said, Venus in your money sector through to the 19th can be helpful, and good news about a property matter is possible midmonth. Although as a Water Sign your intuition is often very strong, your mind can be razor sharp too, but as the month goes on, if you do encounter resistance or challenging viewpoints, the lure of your home and inner sanctum can become strong. A controlling relationship may need to be faced up to as the month winds down.
Leo 24 July – 23 August
With Venus in your sign for the first three weeks of September and forging good connections along the way, your sense of desirability can be boosted. And you’ll likely be no slouch creatively either. But where you connect to anyone closely, be it financially, emotionally or intimately, with the mighty Saturn back into your 8th House, if there are parts of this that are not working, use the energies of the chatty Mercury to gather the details and share your case. If the daily budget does require a trim, there may be old skills or experiences which can be repurposed in the here and now to aid your income. As September goes on, things will speed up, and so will your reflexes, Leo.
Virgo 24 August – 23 September
Great news early on for you Virgo, as your guide Mercury returns home on the 2nd of September. The last couple of months may have had their moments of frustration, but perhaps also a sense of isolation. If you feel that certain people have been unsupportive at times, the planet of relating Venus, continuing in your 12th House of deep reflection, may see you contemplating what your next steps should be. Saturn can bring a chill wind to weak ties this month, especially on the Solar Eclipse in Virgo on the 21st, but also a great big slice of reality and the desire to be firm with those who may take you for granted. Yet if you’re fortunate enough to collaborate with someone valuable, it can become more rooted now.
Libra 24 September – 23 October
Each year on the Autumnal Equinox, the Sun returns to Libra. But this year, uniquely, the passionate and assertive Mars is emboldening you, indeed on the 16th he forges a wonderful link to your ruler. This could be a key moment in many ways, as can some confidential discussions. And yet your ability to think out the box is heightened in the 18th to 20th, and this could intrigue someone you encounter. What does get discussed by the month’s end, may then become more tangible, and it could be this can lead to a welcome shift in your financial circumstances. Yet if you’re tempted to be rash around a speculation in the last week, try to embrace your talent for detached logic. This might help to protect you from being too hasty.
Scorpio 24 October – 22 November
September asks you a big question Scorpio, does your long term plan really give the chance to express yourself in the meaningful way that’s so often important to you? If not, the month can be a seminal time, where some big decisions may be needed, and where you seize the initiative. That old saying, of not being able to please all of the people, all of the time, also comes to mind. What you could do, is surf the power of the Lunar Eclipse to do something really different. Being a fixed sign, routine may hold more appeal than you realise, but with Jupiter in play, his encouragement can be really helpful. The friends who DO get that you’re wanting to reset, can be very helpful though, and by the 22nd, as your traditional ruler enters your sign, your determination can be very strong.
Sagittarius 23 November – 21 December
Truth be told Archer, ever since Neptune moved into your 4th House of home and emotion (for the long term) in 2012, followed by Saturn in early March 2023, the home, family and emotional side of your situation has likely evolved strongly or left you feeling vulnerable, and needing to focus on reinforcing your sense of security, be it physical or within. Well, buckle up, because if there’s more you need to do, whether it’s relocate, upsize, downsize, extend, improve or reorder, this can show itself until mid February next year, or some new beginnings are possible in your realm of personal inner recognition. Someone you encounter this month can be a huge help, but then equally your leadership skills could shine. However, a more social end to September is possible, but avoid a known mischief maker.
Capricorn 22 December – 20 January
Your much regaled ruler, Saturn, returns to your sector of everyday interactions through to mid February. And whilst there can be lots of important conversations this month and perhaps even one key alliance forged, people will be drawn to your work ethic and your desire to fulfil obligations. Ironically, there could be part of you that yearns to be free, to travel and be more spontaneous. Fortunately, Mars gives you added kudos and authority, but can increase your appetite for recognition. Aquarius 21 January – 19 February
Over the last couple of years, your traditional guide Saturn, has been pushing and prodding you to take more care over the core foundations of your world. Pisces 20 February – 20 March

The Solar Eclipse of the 21st can be a time to set your intentions around all sorts of interactions and relationships, but with stern Saturn in the celestial mix, if you don’t feel that someone understands what you mean or say, you may decide that some distance, even if temporary, is best, and Mars delivers the cosmic energy from the 22nd, to achieve that.
