Monthly Horoscopes October 2025
Relationships continue to be a powerful theme in October, and not just of the romantic variety. Venus returns home mid-month to Libra, and for some her dazzling link to both Uranus and Pluto could bring a very special, even somewhat electric, connection into our world. Conversely, this can also be a month when ties that are not working so well come sharply into focus, influenced by the Aries Full Moon on the 7th and the challenging Libra New Moon on the 21st.
We can, however, start the month buoyed by Mercury and Jupiter, which give us a sense that things are on the up. This is one of those aspects that can provide a lift, though it is also important not to become overly optimistic.
Mercury, the communicator, moves into a deep but no-nonsense phase from the 6th. Aligning with powerful Mars for the last two weeks, and peaking in their intense collaboration on the 20th, something could be pushed into the open, particularly where someone has been evasive or non-committal. Expect dramatic events on the world stage, perhaps around the equity markets, or further revelations concerning corruption or matters that have previously been concealed.
Neptune inverts to Pisces on the 22nd, where he will remain until 26th January. Neptune is the modern ruler of this sign, but joins Saturn in one final check-in during this broader celestial journey, which began around 152 years ago.
Intriguingly, whilst Jupiter clashed bitterly with Saturn when he first moved into Cancer in early June, peaking mid-month, from the 11th to the 31st they forge an excellent Water Trine. Here they can balance out each other’s extremes in a far more constructive way.
The Sun follows on from Mercury’s earlier square to Jupiter, keeping celestial suit in week three. This requires care, for if we over-promise and under-deliver, it is not a great look—so keeping it real is key. Following this, the Sun joins Mercury and Mars as they move into passionate Scorpio, but in so doing, goes into an immediate square with the modern ruler of the sign, the tiny but powerful Pluto. This can generate intense power battles.
Mars contributes to the earlier blend of Jupiter and Saturn in the last week, forging a Grand Water Trine. This helps us to take action while also staying attuned to how we really feel. Yet, as the cosmic curtain falls on the month, Mercury speeds into detriment in expansive Sagittarius, facing off with restless Uranus. Where something truly cannot be resolved, a sudden and decisive push for liberation may occur.
Aries 21 March – 20 April
Relationships of all kinds come sharply into focus this October. From mid-month, the chance to encounter someone very special is highlighted. Equally, in the last ten days, if an existing tie isn’t working so well, you may find yourself feistier than for a while in asserting how you feel. A home, family, or emotional strand that has felt blocked since June can start to resolve itself very positively in the last week, but it will likely require give and take on all sides.
Taurus 21 April – 21 May
It’s a high-energy start to the month for you, Taurus, and you can find yourself keen to grapple with any strands of life that need refining or organising. The Full Moon of the 7th asks you to prioritise, however, as you don’t want to spread yourself too thinly. As the month develops, a much greater emphasis moves to your interactions with others, and you can find yourself setting firmer boundaries with the help of Mercury, Mars, and then the Sun. Work relationships feature from the 23rd, with a possible battle of wills.
Gemini 22 May – 21 June
You could find yourself more carefree as October begins, with your ruler Mercury in a bubbly alliance with abundant Jupiter. Giving yourself permission, to enjoy creature comforts and social meet-ups can really chime. With Venus moving into a delightful area mid-month, a sparkling encounter could see you sharing ideas with someone like-minded, or feeling a personal connection. Yet later in the month, you may have to get your attention back onto practicalities. If you feel torn between duty and freedom, it would be little surprise. A work opportunity can light up week four.
Cancer 22 June – 23 July
Since lucky Jupiter arrived in your sign in early June, you may not have felt the uplift you expected. But as October goes on, his sparkling alliance with steady Saturn and vibrant Mars can start to shape things in a more positive way for you. The root of your life, your home and emotional base, is at the centre of things until then, but you will feel more outgoing and excited by new opportunities as the month progresses. In fact, you can go from wanting to retreat and reflect, to very much joining in, and may find yourself at the centre of things as you do.
Leo 24 July – 23 August
The lunations this month put a lot of emphasis on communication, and with Mercury, the communicator, speeding through three zodiac signs, chances are there are going to be some very important conversations. Mark the 13th and 14th in your diary, when Venus, the planet of charm, gives you oodles of extra impact, and Pluto, the planet of change, turns direct. They both align at the heart of this month with the dazzling energies of Uranus, so an unexpected text, email, or connection can spark you. Just be aware you could be unusually defensive in the last ten days.
Virgo 24 August – 23 September
A friend could try to enthuse you with a money-making scheme early on, and it could work, but do ensure you carry out your usual due diligence, as balancing ins and outgoings will be important in the first three weeks. Your ruler Mercury is very influential this month, and from the 14th to the 24th is in a fine link with Mars. This will give you a greater sense of confidence about your ideas, which you can punch across with conviction. If your social situation has been blunted since mid-summer, it can revive as October unfolds.
Libra 24 September – 23 October
Mid-month, your ruler returns home to Libra, but forges an angle with Uranus and Pluto not experienced in our lifetimes. If you have been processing an old relationship or past romantic disappointments, the planets align to inspire you to embrace a truly significant moment of new beginnings. The New Moon in your sign on the 21st can also spur you on, but when it comes to finances, that part of you that can be tempted by luxuries may be hard to resist. Still, if you have worked diligently, a career breakthrough that once seemed elusive is possible in week four.
Scorpio 24 October – 22 November
October has a distinctly Scorpionic vibe. It begins with your two co-rulers, Mars and Pluto, at odds. This is followed by speedy Mercury joining your sign on the 6th, and aligning exactly with your traditional ruler Mars on the 20th. Then, when the Sun returns on the 23rd, it too clashes with Pluto. What to make of all this? Well, your home and emotional life are likely in deep transition. You may want to micro-manage the process, but that may prove counterproductive. Focus on what you can improve and change, but value your core security and support systems too.
Sagittarius 23 November – 21 December
Neptune returns to join stern Saturn in your sector of home and family on the 22nd. Although early in the month you may find yourself juggling your time and commitments, this is a gentle nudge to stay in touch with the feeling side of your nature. In fact, some old issues linked to your past can get stirred from the 15th. You may find your emotions unusually up and down. Yet know this: you have journeyed extensively and gained so much insight and deep knowledge. Whilst fair-weather friends may make way later in October, you will be able to celebrate that the foundations you do have are real.
Capricorn 22 December – 20 January
You are known for being diligent and hard-working, but October offers a glorious chance to raise your profile and receive additional recognition, Capricorn. If you have clear goals and have done everything you can to seize a golden prize, by mid-month things can start to ebb in your direction. A wonderful planetary collective in week four can see your skill and experience celebrated. It just may be that you have to be flexible on the financial package offered, which, though good, may not completely meet all your expectations. But see it as another step forwards up the mountain of success.
Aquarius 21 January – 19 February
You could find yourself in the mood to switch things up early this month, Aquarius. Even if you are a Water Bearer who likes your routines, a change really can be as good as a rest. Your desire to travel, be more independent, or be spontaneous can all appeal. Yet, if things have gone stale at work, or you have long been drawn to self-employment, as October unfolds, this may be where a fresh start awaits. In fact, you could surprise people with your confidence and preparedness to seize the limelight – perhaps surprise yourself too.
Pisces 20 February – 20 March
Your modern ruler Neptune returns to Pisces for one final pass on the 22nd and unites with strict Saturn. From now until mid-February 2026, this duo can push you to really focus on essentials, and strip away peripheral distractions. They also ask you to manage your energy and time carefully, but despite this, as October gains traction, changes of scene, new experiences, or freshening up your approach can all appeal. Equally, some powerful realisations and revelations are possible too. But what endures by the month’s end will be truly meaningful.
