The week begins in truly dramatic fashion – surfing as we do the potency of the fall-out from the Solar Eclipse in Virgo, the first for 19 years, which on Monday sees Mars leave Libra for Scorpio, and the Sun transition into Libra to replace him, ushering in Cardinal Quadrant three, the next thirteen-week slice of the Western Tropical Astrological Calendar.
Libra is the sign of balance, and with the logical Mercury already in residency, this is a prompt for us all to think about our connections and interactions. But the Sun in Libra is in his Fall, and so we have to work at this. And also Neptune provides some initial sluggish opposition, but the Sun’s angles to Uranus and Pluto can provide sparks of possibility.
Yet whilst Mars may be happy to have arrived home in the deep, transformational sign of Scorpio, whom he traditionally rules, he ironically goes into an intense stand-off with the modern ruler of the sign, Pluto, in the sign of community, Aquarius. So any relationship that seems bound by control, leverage, or coercion may be one we want to break free from, and especially with Uranus’s dazzling electric impulse urging us to resist limitations or viewpoints that do not align with our need to “feel” free, even within the best of relationships.
